Call (302) 377-1193 Get Claim HelpFiling a Roof Insurance Claim Doesn’t Have to Be Hard
Most homeowners have never filed a major insurance claim before. The forms, the adjuster visits, the scope of work language, the deductibles, the supplemental claims — it can feel like a maze designed to wear you down. We get it. After a storm, the last thing you want is another full-time job navigating your insurance company.
That’s where we come in. A. Parker Contracting has handled thousands of roof insurance claims across Delaware, Pennsylvania, and South Jersey since 1982. We know what carriers approve, what they push back on, and how to document damage so adjusters approve a fair scope on the first visit. We walk you through every step, meet your adjuster on-site, and handle the paperwork so you can focus on your family. You’re not alone in this — we’ll handle it.
How the Insurance Claim Process Works
Document the Damage — We Provide Free Inspection + Photo Report
Before you even call your insurance company, we come out and inspect. You get a written, photo-documented report formatted for adjuster submission. This is the foundation — claims with proper documentation get approved at dramatically higher rates.
File Your Claim With Your Insurance Company
You file the claim — but we coach you on what to say (and just as importantly, what not to say). We provide your claim number and storm date so you can give the carrier accurate information from the first call.
Adjuster Visits Your Home — We Meet Them On-Site
This is where most contractors disappear. We don’t. We walk the roof with your adjuster, point out every documented damage point, and make sure nothing gets missed. This single step is the biggest reason our claims get fully approved.
Insurance Approves Scope of Work and Writes You a Check
Your carrier issues a settlement based on the approved scope. We review it with you to confirm it covers everything documented — and we file supplemental claims immediately if anything was missed.
We Complete the Work to Manufacturer Specifications
GAF Master Elite and Owens Corning Preferred installation — fully warrantied, code-compliant, and properly photo-documented at every stage so your investment is protected.
Final Inspection — Supplemental Claims if Needed
If hidden damage is uncovered during tear-off (rotted decking, additional flashing work, ventilation issues), we file supplemental claims with full documentation — and adjusters typically approve them.
What We Do as Your Contractor
Free Damage Inspection
Full roof walkthrough with photo and video documentation of every damage point. Same-day or next-day in most cases. No cost, no obligation.
Insurance-Ready Reports
Written damage reports formatted exactly how insurance adjusters expect — slope-by-slope summaries, photo references, recommended scope of work.
On-Site Adjuster Meetings
We’re there when the adjuster walks the roof. We advocate for a complete, accurate scope and make sure documented damage doesn’t get overlooked.
Scope of Work Negotiation
If the adjuster’s initial scope misses items or undervalues line-items, we negotiate using carrier-standard pricing (Xactimate). Fair, accurate, no inflation.
Supplemental Claims
When tear-off reveals additional damage or the original scope missed something, we file supplements with full documentation. With our paperwork, they typically get approved.
Deductible Financing Available
$0 down through Hearth — spread your deductible over manageable monthly payments so cash flow isn’t a barrier to getting the work done right.
Common Insurance Claim Questions
Will filing a claim raise my insurance premium?
Storm damage claims typically don’t raise your rates — they’re considered “Acts of God” and your carrier knows you didn’t cause the damage. Multiple claims in a short period, or non-storm-related claims, can affect rates. If you have one storm claim from a documented weather event, you’re almost always fine.
How long do I have to file a claim?
Most homeowner policies require filing within one year of the storm date — some carriers are even shorter. Don’t wait. The longer you delay, the harder it becomes to prove the damage came from a specific storm event, and the more likely the carrier is to deny the claim or attribute damage to “wear and tear.”
What if my claim is denied?
Denials aren’t always final. Many initial denials get reversed when the homeowner files a request for re-inspection with additional photo evidence and a contractor’s documentation report. We’ve helped many customers successfully appeal denials — it’s about presenting the evidence the right way.
Do I need to pay my deductible upfront?
Your deductible is your responsibility under your policy — that part doesn’t change. But you don’t have to pay it all at once. We offer $0-down deductible financing through Hearth, with fixed monthly payments at competitive rates. Most homeowners qualify in minutes.
What if the insurance check doesn’t cover the full repair?
That’s exactly what supplemental claims are for. If the original scope missed damage, undervalued materials, or didn’t account for code-required upgrades, we file a supplemental with photo documentation. With our paperwork, adjusters typically approve them — and the carrier issues additional payment.
